Berberana Clasico 1877 Reserva 2006 Mentrida

Named in honour of the year of Berberana39s founding, this is an unmistakably Spanish red wine, which spends 24 months in cask before bottling. From the Mentrida region, this is a quality Rioja alternative, offering classic Reserva styling and a bargain price. Intense vanilla aromas fill the nose, lifting the warm stewed berry fruit. Smooth and fleshy on the palate, with a profile of raspberry and blackberry jam. Soft but grippy tannins complete the picture. A great partner for barbecued pork chops, or aromatic smoked cheeses.
