2007 Rasteau LAndeol Cocirctes du Rhocircne Perrin et Fils

The Perrin family of the famous Chacircteauneuf estate of Chacircteau de Beaucastel also have wide ranging interests throughout their region to which they bring not only their high standards of winemaking but also their devotion to growing organically. They have some vineyards around the classic hill village of Rasteau of which you can get a perfect view if you approach from the west and once over the brow of the hill it is perfectly set out for you in the valley below and grow the usual suspects of Grenache and Syrah which in this case is blended with 80% of the former and 10% of the whole is aged in oak to give the final wine a touch of added structure. Coming from the devilishly good 2007 vintage this wine is perfect for drinking now and at its best served with something simple like good quality sausages.
