2005 Pouilly Fumeacute Chacircteau de Tracy

We39ve been taught that the 39smoky, minerally, gunflinty39 style defines the wines from eastern Loire appellation Pouilly Fumeacute but we39re hard pressed to spot it in Henri d39Estutt d39Assay39s, richly textured, weighty, grassy, grapefruity Sauvignons. Perhaps his Chacircteau de Tracy a beautiful property, set in parkland, and home to the vine since 1396 deserves an appellation all its own. The 2004 is showing at its best now. One for goat cheeses or citrus chicken.
